Between 18 months and 3 years old, toddlers become increasingly aware that they are separate individuals from their parents. This time marks a significant change in how children grow and interact with the world. We encourage active toddlers to explore their world through touch, taste, smell, sight, and movement.
Our toddler and preschool program serves children ages 18 through 3 years and offers a balance of structured routines and play-based learning experiences. Children engage in age-appropriate activities that promote language development, social and emotional growth, early cognitive skills, and independence.

Toddler Program
(18 – 36 months)
Our toddler program serves children ages 18 to 36 months in a thoughtfully prepared, nurturing environment, including a dedicated outdoor play yard designed specifically for their age group. Supportive potty training is provided.
As children approach 30 months of age, families may request transition into the preschool program, based on developmental readiness and space availability.
Preschool Program
(2 ½ – 3 years)
The preschool program provides young children the space, supervision, and support to learn and grow. The preschool program provides separate classrooms and outdoor playtime from younger toddlers and older children.
Joyful Learning
St. Clare’s prepares children for Kindergarten by helping them develop social and emotional skills, confidence, and independence such as taking turns, transitioning from one activity to another, playing with friends, and developing language.
Play with Purpose
Opportunities are provided daily to develop large and fine motor skills, music awareness and artistic expression, and math and science activities in a developmentally appropriate atmosphere.
Build a Compassionate Heart
Our program includes a spiritual element. We welcome children of all faiths and talk to them about God loving us all and about praying for those we love. We tell some simple Bible stories, sing a song, and do a dance.
Saying Goodbye
“Separations are sometimes difficult, especially at the start of preschool. Having a consistent routine is very important. Talk with your child before you arrive about what he or she will do and the teachers and children who will be at school…
Our single most important piece of advice is to say goodbye confidently and briefly, then leave. Don’t hesitate to contact the preschool later to check how your child is doing.”
